Finding refuge in a serene setting in Manhattan is hard to come by. There is of course Central Park but where are the other options? Starting May 27th at Collect Pond Park, just south of Canal, a new art installation will be installed for the public. Surrounded by office buildings, A Clearing in the Streets is a meadow housed within a ten-sided plywood structure. During its four month viewing the installation will take on its natural states, growing from seedlings into a lush meadow. This project is made possible through the Public Art Fund. Read more about the project and the artists, Julie Farris and Sarah Wayland-Smith here.

Collect Pond Park is located on Leonard Street between Centre and Lafayette Streets.
Subway: J, M, Z, N, Q, R, W, 6 to Canal Street.
A Clearing in the Streets is free and on view daily.
