The drawback to living in New York is the constant feeling of never having enough time. The simplest of chores like laundry, cleaning your apartment, or walking the dog can easily be neglected for something more important. Recognizing these needs, the service industry has developed many business to support our demanding lifestyle. Enter Droog Lab. The Dutch design firm formed Droog Lab in hopes to explore and “define the next generation of global design.” Their latest exploration is the service industry in New York entitled Serving New York. Led by Renny Ramakers and Charles Renfro from Diller Scofidio + Renfro the two have formed a team to investigate the “limitations and possibilities of such a service-oriented mentality.” The project will unveil itself next April with updates throughout the coming months on Droog’s website.
