Bike enthusiast, David Byrne along with the Department of Transportation and art gallery PaceWildenstein have installed 9 sculptural bike racks throughout Manhattan and one in Williamsburg. The bike racks are designed by Byrne, each representing the neighborhood its appropriately place in. A dollar sign for Wall Street or a silhouette of a woman in Times Square. The sculptures will be in available to the public for use for a year and will be sold through PaceWildenstein. Read more about the effort and team up from David Byrne’s blog.
