Robert Lazzarini’s sculpture needs to be seen in person to be appreciated. Photos of his sculptures are purposefully set against white backdrops on his site, giving them a two dimensional flatness. But this all changes in person, your perception is completely turned upside down when recognizable objects presents itself in an entirely different scale while being skewed and distorted. In his upcoming exhibition guns, knives, and brass knuckles, Lazzarini once again applies this effect to the aforementioned objects. What is also impressive is that he uses the same materials from the original objects as he does for his sculptures. guns, knives, and brass knuckles was scheduled to open this evening but due to “unforeseen circumstances” has been postponed.
