In our third installment of What’s in Store we visit Saturdays Surf. Formed in August 2009, the shop struck a chord with its customers by combining the beauty of surf with an urban aesthetic that is not usually akin to the sport. The front steps of their shop is cement and cobblestone yet that location proved to be a key component to the brand. Saturdays sits in the middle of the block on Crosby Street and is sheltered away from the heavy traffic of Broadway. The shop is armed with a coffee bar up front and a backyard usually reserved for dining rather than retail. They created the perfect vibe for the urban surfer. We met with the trio, Josh Rosen, Morgan Collett, and Colin Tunstall, on a Tuesday afternoon right before their departure for Tokyo to open a new store in Daikanyama and spoke with Josh to see what was in store for Saturdays.
