Appreciating a Deus motorcycle first hand isn’t easy. If the location of their workshops aren’t a factor then the cost may be. Deus Ex Machina has been hand building custom motorcycles in Australia since 2006 and modifying existing models from Hondas to Triumphs. Their admiration for the classically designed bikes is apparent, opting to rebuild older models rather newer ones. Deus’s workshop goes beyond a simple garage, it functions as a creative hub to cultivate and celebrate the creative culture, housing everything from a showroom to a cafe. Though motorcycles are the heart of the company, they’ve expanded to include bicycles, surfboards, and their own clothing line. For those of us that don’t live in Australia or Bali, we can get a taste of what Deus is all about from their recently released publication Deus Ex Machina, The House of Simple Pleasures. The 238 page book does an amazing job at documenting the beauty that is Deus. Pick one up at Saturdays or on their site.
