Making our way back to South America, we’d like to introduce you to a studio from Santiago, Chile called Made In Mimbre (Spanish for wicker). Just like the name says, wicker is used predominantly in the lamps and furniture the studio designs. The company works with a small factory 150 km south of Santiago in a town called Chimbarongo where wicker is naturally grown. Watch this short film documenting the factory workers along with an interview of the design studio’s principal. Unfortunately some of the translation is a bit off, nonetheless it’s thoughtful and very well executed.
