Los Angeles is determined to be recognized as a design city that can compete on an international level. And why shouldn’t it, considering its rich design history. From Charles and Ray Eames to Neutra and Schindler, American Mid-Century Modern design wouldn’t be what it is without them. On June 16, the city’s annual design festival will recognize every facet of design in the Greater Los Angeles area. Exhibitions, tours and events are all scheduled to play out for two weeks throughout the city. Neutra’s VDL residence will once again be open to the public. The Architecture and Design Museum will host COME IN! 2, an exhibition where they’ve given designers free reign of the museum. Adam Silverman will show new work at Heath Ceramics. Imaginary Forces is offering a tour through their studio. Find the full list of events taking place during the Los Angeles Design Festival.
