Sometimes a package comes across our desk that needs to be shared. Such is the case with The Original MOONSHINE box, which actually isn’t a box at all. A bottle of MOONSHINE is housed discreetly in a double volume book set, made to resemble a dusty old tome one would find in a gentleman’s library. Appropriately titled Freedom to Shine, the packaging goes as far as to include several pages on the history of the illicit nectar and opens with a quote from William Faulkner. “Well, between scotch and nothing, I suppose I’d take scotch – it’s the nearest thing to good moonshine I can find.” The double volume set plays on the outlaw activity with its hidden compartment to reveal a bottle that is anything but bootleg. The bottle is designed with a more elegant approach to the stereotypical clay jug while paying homage to its roots with the four X’s – indicating the number of times it’s been distilled. The clear corn whiskey gets equal attention in its production, it’s all handcrafted in small batches in Culpeper, Virginia.
