We’ve kept track of every Irving Harper coverage since Metropolis Magazine’s profile from 2001–this is not to say that there are many. From Leslie Williamson’s portrait of Harper’s home to New York Time’s Style section, these profiles are few and far between. So whenever something emerges, we pay close attention. The company that Harper’s work is mostly known for turns their lens on the man. Herman Miller visits Harper’s home for its latest installment of Why Design. We get more of an impression of Harper in this interview as we enter his menagerie of paper sculptures. Though the short film can be melancholic at times, his personality charms the hell out of us. Watch the film below.
