We enjoy seeing high design cross paths with other unlike industries. Though this won’t be the first time a shoe company incorporates Maharam textiles into their footwear, this will be Nike’s first collaboration with Maharam. Moco Loco reports that Nike plans on releasing a limited edition Air Force 1 using Hella Jongerius’s Layers pattern designed for Maharam. And with all things exclusive and limited an exclusive launch event will happen on April 1st at Moss. Read more about the collaboration from Maharam’s press release.

Moss hosted a similar event in 2005 when Marc Newson designed a pair of shoes for Nike called the Zvezdochka. The Vans Vault line have been using Maharam textiles for some time, incorporating fabrics designed by the Eames, Alexander Girard, George Nelson and of course Hella Jongerius.
