It’s always interesting to see disparate industries collaborating on this scale. Veuve Clicquot, the premium champagne brand commissioned three of today’s leading industrial designers to create their own interpretation of its DesignBox. Transforming its package into functional pieces of furniture and lighting, Tom Dixon, 5.5 Design, and Front Design revealed their creation this week at the Milan Furniture Fair. Tom Dixon created a lamp with his design by deconstructing Veuve Clicquot’s iconic yellow boxes. 5.5 fabricated a cellar, staggering compartments to perfectly house the champagne. While Front designed a chaise lounge, randomly positioning the boxes to create a pixelated landscape.
