It’s no secret that New York is lacking in good Mexican food, but that’s changing. The past several years have seen a crop of Mexican restaurants that will rival any from the west coast, including Calexico, a humble street cart that started in SoHo. Since 2006, Calexico has been building a name for themselves as one of the best Mexican food joints in the city. As the SoHo cart expands into other neighborhoods, we took a little bit of time from Brian Vendley’s schedule to ask him a few questions about sneakers, music, and yeah, burritos.
