Yummy, delicious, superb, juicy, all adjectives to describe a Fleisher cow.

Yummy, delicious, superb, juicy, all adjectives to describe a Fleisher cow.

As a vegetarian of 9 years, the last thing I thought I’d be fascinated by is meat. After doing some New Years Resolution reading (Ominvore’s Dilemma and Real Food) I’m hungry for knowledge about traditional methods of cooking and eating.

Fleisher’s Grass Fed & Organic Meats practice what they preach by serving up the highest quality beef, chicken, pork and more. They apply a “nose to tail” philosophy to their work, allowing for unique cuts of meat & sustainability. Because of the clean, fresh taste of their products they’ve gathered quite a following. They supply meat to such notable restaurants such as Marlow & Sons, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and Il Buco. They also deliver to NYC and Long Island, if your mouth is watering already.

Fleishers really is doing a lot for the cause. We attended a demonstration/dinner by Joshua Applestone (a vegetarian himself for 12 years before rediscovering bacon) at Flatbush Farm in November.
