April is Grilled Cheese Month at Artisinal Bistro

It’s grilled cheese for the gourmand: Artisanal (2 Park Ave at 33rd St, 212-275-8585), Terence Brennan’s fromagophile French bistro, is featuring a brand new take on a childhood classic every day in April, pairing each sandwich with a glass of wine sold for half its regular price. Early entrants include Manchego and smoked paprika paired with Tempranillo “Crianza” Abando Rioja 2004. Other innovative twists include feta with slow-roasted tomatoes, Pierre Robert with smoked salmon and mozzarella with caponata. Fancy a pop at designing your own? Just post your favorite crusty creation on the restaurant’s Facebook page by April 17, and the best recipe will be added to the menu and you’ll win dinner for two plus a basket from the restaurant’s cheese counter. You don’t need a reservation for the grilled cheese bar, which is good and bad news. Get there early or after the dinner rush if you don’t want to wait.
