"The Art of Farming" at Sotheby's

At first glance, “The Art of Farming” appears to be somewhat of a gimmick – an auction of edible heirlooms held by Sotheby’s. But in actuality, it’s entirely charitable, all of the proceeds will benefit GrowNYC New Farmer Development Project which helps immigrants with agricultural experience develop their own farms in the region. Rare vegetables like Turkish Orange Eggplant, Lady Godiva Squash and Pink Banana Pumpkins along with special packages like a private tour at Stone Barns will be made available to patrons. The event will also be supported by gallery talks and a gala dinner towards the end of the evening. Visit “The Art of Faming” for more details. (via TWBE)
