Chris Gentile and his team at Pilgrim Surf + Supply brought surf culture to the unlikeliest of boroughs. Even though Brooklyn’s surrounded by water, the city is more town than country. But going on three years, the corner surf shop has been embraced by locals and internationals alike. Mainly in Japan where they worked with BEAMS to launch its first collection for Spring Summer 2014. Taking inspiration from its urban surrounding and coastal shores, Pilgrim has created a functional line that is ideal for both settings. The line consists of classic staples like button-down shirts, comfy tees, heavy duty shorts, crew neck sweatshirts, rugby shirts, and durable jackets. The entire collection is made in the US, some in Brooklyn. Referencing Gentile’s art background the line gives a nod to artist like David Hockney and Martin Puryear. Have a look at Pilgrim’s S/S 2014 line and shop the collection online and in-store.
