The well fitting suit is due for a surge in America, thanks to Obama’s natty, nipped in tailoring. On the trail his fashion garnered attention from the runway to the fashion rags. His Chicago tailor, Hartmarx, has gotten sales bumps when other tailoring brands are bracing for financial impact.
Then, today, we hear form the NYT that in action, Obama’s less formal than Presidents past. In the first days he was photographed sans jacket in the Oval Office, and on weekends he’s granted ‘business casual’ policies to those at work. But business casual is a slippery slope.
While we certainly don’t miss box suits as ambassadors and leaders, we’d like to ensure a standard of fashion. For this we like the classic yet challenging Thom Brown to keep things on the up.
