As far as heritage clothing labels go, it’s tough to beat Filson. The Seattle based company specializing in outdoor and hunting gear since 1897 was recognized by Levi’s for its American made designs and quality craftsmanship. Levi’s announced a collaboration with Filson last week and we were able to view a few of the samples. The collection takes the best from both companies, mixing different fabrics with existing and new designs. Like the Denim Patch Pocket “Cruiser” Jacket, originally made of Mackinaw Wool, Levi’s has updated this classic with indigo denim. The details of the design are all kept intact, including the “cruiser” pockets in the back. The Work Shirt looks to be a basic silhouette but is actually the first ever “fully functional denim shooting shirt,” equipped with a shooting patch over the right shoulder. One of Filson’s most popular luggage item is also included. Retaining the genuine bridle leather straps, The Rugged Tote Bag combines the original cotton twill with indigo denim. The collection also consists of the original Levi’s Trucker Jacket, denim and wool cap, and a small duffle. Prices will range from $50 to $228 and will be available starting this month at Levi’s and Filson shops.
