Handmade Nation is an indie documentary covering the multi-front resurgence of craft and DIY culture by first-time filmmaker, artist, and photographer Faythe Levine.

We first learned about the documentary at last year’s Renegade Craft Fair (and bought the handsome yellow poster). Since then the craft movement has only become more relevant and picked up more apostles. The book is out now and quite lovely—winning AIGA 50/50 honors—and the doc is screening at MAD in NYC right now. Tonight, opening night, is sold out, but tickets are still available for this coming weekend.

For more on the documentary, including other screening dates, check out their blog and watch the trailer. They’ve also been impressively diligent on flickr where you can see behinds the scenes.
