In design circles Dieter Rams is considered to be one of the most influential industrial designers in the post war era. Rams’s notoriety reemerged with his work for the Vitsoe shelving system, prompting a show at Moss’s gallery in 2006. His influence on Apple products have been cited and compared to, numerous times. However there’s been little documentation on Rams’s career and work on these shores. The V&A museum in London is hosting an exhibit titled Cold War Modernism and interviewed Dieter Rams at his home in Kronberg, Germany.
Dieter Rams will be featured in Gary Hustwit’s industrial design documentary Objectified next year.
