We did some scouting several weeks ago at the offices of Roman & Williams, the design team responsible for two of the city’s biggest hotel openings this year, The Ace and The Standard. What we found was a work space full of inspiration. Partners Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch have surrounded themselves with reference material of objects from a bygone era. You can literally spend days sifting through all the books, art, objects, and materials that are perfectly cataloged in the studio. The purpose for the visit was to scout the space for our shoot. Roman & Williams will be the second subject in our documentary series on craftsmanship. Stay tuned, these still images will be supplemented with moving pictures.
