While Daft Punk’s soundtrack for Tron proved to be a big success, Sonic Youth’s foray into scoring a film, unfortunately, will not receive as much attention. The band produced an original score for a small French movie titled “Simon Werner A Disaparu” (aka “Lights Out”). According to The Playlist, our go-to blog for all things movie related, the film is reminiscent of Brick, the 2005 indie hit starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It is uncertain when “Lights Out” will make its way to the States but the soundtrack is scheduled for a digital release on January 25th followed by a physical release in February. Watch the French trailer for a sampling of the soundtrack.
