Similar to Thumbsucker, Mike Mills will be putting out a book with Damiani for his forthcoming film, Beginners. In a cycle of art imitating life, Mills created a character similar to himself. Ewan McGregor plays this character who is also a graphic designer and illustrator. The book is a collection of illustrations that Mills drew for McGregor’s character. Some of the illustrations include album artwork for the band The Sads, fronted by Aaron Rose, who owns Alleged Press, a division of Damiani. It’s all very meta. “Drawings From the Film Beginners” will be out at the end of May.
