Tom Ford has been quoted in the past as saying that every man needs in his wardrobe a blazer, a perfect tuxedo, a good dark suit, and a tie. He forgot to add that they should all come from Savile Row, the birthplace of “bespoke” tailoring. Ford contributes to Rizzoli’s upcoming book “Bespoke: The Men’s Style of Savile Row,” scheduled for release next Tuesday. Written by James Sherwood, the publication takes us through the history of bespoke tailoring centered around Savile Row where patrons have included Winston Churchill and Napoleon III.

On a more approachable scale, Inventory just announced the release of INVENTORY Edits. This will be an addition to their magazine published once a year in large format newsprint. It contains unseen photos from the “feature and focus section” of Inventory. Were they inspired by Monocle’s newsprint publication over the summer? Possibly – we don’t mind at all when it looks this good. Pick up a copy at Partners & Spade or online on their site.
