Sit and Read Furniture for Unis

After several festival and early previews, Banksy’s “Exit Through The Gift Shop” makes its premier this Friday in NY, LA, and SF.

Brooklyn’s Sit & Read Furniture will be setting up shop at Unis, reupholstering vintage finds with remnant fabrics from Unis’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Thomas Campbell is showing at Gregory Lind Gallery in San Francisco till May 15. Photos from the exhibit, entitled “Yar” is on view on the gallery’s website.

Scott Campbell’s first solo New York exhibition at OHWOW opens on April 29th.

Brooklyn Soda Works is an artisanal, handmade soda company made with fresh ingredients. They debuted their flavors last weekend at Brooklyn Flea and will be back this Saturday.

Always look forward to a new issues of Apartamento magazine. They will premier issue 5 next week in Milan during the Salone with a pop up shop. FoodMarketo is half pop up store, half cooking workshop, selling contemporary design objects"

Fantastic Man issue 11 hits European newsstands next week as well.

Spike Jonze is working on another short film and is currently shooting in Austin. /Film reports that this will be in collaboration with Arcade Fire.

Would really like to get my hands on Peter Nencini’s Hand Werk boxes – “each containing a set of materials and forms, for abstract play.” (via An Ambitious Project Collapsing)

Arkitip and Incase will open Project Space, a gallery for exhibitions, performances and installations, on April 1st. Parra, the Dutch illustrator will be the first artist to exhibit.

Though it hasn’t been updated since last year, Stephen Alesch, one-half of Roman & Williams, has a blog. It gives you an insight into his everyday life.

The Comics of Chris Ware: Drawing Is a Way of Thinking is a new book to be released on April 1st. The book examines Ware’s influence in and outside of the comic book world. Three different editions will be available, paper, digital and hardcover that will include a printed case binding.

We’re taking you all over the place in today’s Randomness.

The Gentlewoman’s cover was revealed last week featuring Celine’s creative director, Phoebe Philo. The magazine is already available in Paris at Colette. The rest of us will have to wait till March 22nd for the release. See WWD’s article from Friday to find out more.

Jeff Bridges is about to resurrect Kevin Flynn, the protagonist in the 1982 science fiction film, Tron. This December will see the release of Tron Legacy, the long awaited sequel. Watch the second trailer with your headphones on to appreciate Daft Punk’s score.

Strand Bookstore is hosting a tote bag design contest. The deadline for submissions will be March 31st. Judges will include Adrian Tomine, Art Spiegelman, Steven Heller, Françoise Mouly, and R. Sikoryak. Visit Strand’s site for more details.
