The unbranded brand that is MUJI has come a long way. It was only three years ago that the company decided to open its first store in America – its now celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, a new book published by Rizzoli will be released on October 26th, written by the designers that have been pivotal to MUJI’s identity, Jasper Morrison, Naoto Fukasawa and Kenya Hara. The Japan Society will host a conversation with Naoto Fukasawa, Kenya Hara, and John Maeda to discuss the “concepts behind the creation, design and essence of MUJI.”
