The Blue Ribbon empire includes a bakery, sushi restaurant and brasserie, but this tiny bar (serving wine and cocktails) might be our favorite of the lot. There are just a few seats scattered around the bar and back counter-no tables-so if you’re lucky enough to snag one, prepare to settle in. The menu is inventive and slightly eclectic, featuring “egg shooters”–a reinterpretation of the deviled egg, with assorted toppings–open-faced “toasts,” cheeses, salads and small plates like a foie gras terrine with port and honey glaze. Try the supremely excellent pickled tongue toast with sweet onion and mustard, or if you’re feeling less daring, go for the Manchego and Mexican honey toast-perfectly simple, and perfectly delicious.
