You could easily walk right past this tiny gem on a quiet stretch in Tribeca; one the outside, it’s nondescript and unassuming. But step inside and you’ll be greeted with a bustling vibe and amber, atmospheric lighting. Details like faded blueprints on the walls, well-worn industrial chairs and the bathroom – a repurposed elevator cage – give this place a comfortable, lived-in feel, as if it’s been there for decades and you’re one of its regulars. If you’re lucky, you’ll snag a coveted spot on one of the cozy banquettes, but otherwise, pull up a seat at the diminutive bar and watch the expert bartender whip up classic cocktails like Manhattans and old-fashioneds. There’s a selection of food, too, from nibbles like cheese and crostini to heartier fare such as steamed clams and braised lamb.
