Liberty Hall Screenings at the Ace

“We’re starting a free weekly movie series in Liberty Hall with some local and international independent film groups and other friends. Some of the screenings have filmmakers in attendance and staying afterward to give talks about their masterpieces. Every Sunday in January, doors open at 7pm and the reels start spinning at 7:30.

We’re launching on January 9th with a selection of short films shot at Ace New York with Massify and Killer Films, followed by Cold Weather by Rooftop Films, a New York-based non-profit supporting independent film with production, education and really amazing outdoor screenings (though they’re making an exception for Liberty Hall) – plus we’ll have a Moscow Mule drink special. Spike Jonze will give a Q&A at the January 23rd screening of his documentary about Where the Wild Things Are creator Maurice Sendak."

January 9 – Opening Night
An evening of shorts filmed at Ace Hotel New York with Massify and Killer Films, followed by “Cold Weather” by Rooftop films – plus a Moscow Mule drink special.

January 16
Future Shorts – A collection of short films from around the world. Andy and Carolyn London will talk about their film “The Lost Tribes of New York.”

January 23
Oscilloscope Laboratories presents Tell Them Anything You Want, directed by Lance Bangs and Spike Jonze. Spike will stay after the screening to give a Q&A.

January 30
Blvck America presents a collection of vintage shorts from the Middle East, with special guest Bidoun Magazine.

All the screenings are free, and 21 and over only. Stay tuned for February screenings on our calendar.
