When you’re traveling abroad, it’s often the unique charm and earnestness of everyday products and packaging that can catch your attention—something that high design can’t always offer. Kiosk curates and brings together the best of these objects, one country or location at a time. Each showcase lasts for 4 to 6 months, allowing you to get a taste for the tradition and culture of each locale. It’s a great place to find unique gifts and design inspiration; you’ll see beauty in something you’d normally pass by without a second glance. The store’s concept has been so influential that founder Alisa Grifo recently collaborated with the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum to create a store-within-store experience. You could also say the MoMA design store is adopting Kiosk’s “country du jour” selections with its Destination series.
