Read MoreHollander & Lexer is a covert sanctuary of unique menswear and accessories located amidst the antique emporiums of Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. The finely crafted clothing is enhanced by an eccentric atmosphere that can only be compared to it’s sister shop Darr — an interior design vault of curiosities located across the street. Both stores are the creative vision of Hicham Benmira and Brian Cousins. Their signature stamp of warn textures, dark woods, and mysterious antiquity create the stage for products from Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, Oliver Spencer, and Steven Alan. Benmira and Cousins have also worked with local artisans and tailors to create their own products that are only available at Hollander & Lexer, and in Japan and Britain. Uncommon leather goods, vintage Roman rings, and Santa Maria Novella bath products complete the selection. Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments named the store as his favorite in New York during a 2007 interview with “Huge” magazine.
