Moon River Chattel has the appeal of an old general store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Co-owners Christine Foley and Paul Sperduto have created a warm environment influenced by their love of Shaker craftsmanship, utilitarian simplicity and natural design instinct. They carry a variety of wares, each selected to bring charisma and sincerity to your home. Stock your bathroom and kitchen with unique soaps, containers, linens and tools; peruse weathered-looking knobs, hooks, lighting fixtures, reclaimed wood for flooring and garden implements. The store also carries rugged luggage, toys and curious gift items, and the architectural salvage annex is full of pieces with unmistakable character. Foley and Sperduto clearly value the re-use and restoration of quality materials as way to combat today’s disposable building practices. There is a sense that these items are from a simpler time absent of trends, when products were made to last.
