Read MoreDarr is the first collaboration of Brian Cousins and Hicham Benmira (Hollander & Lexer being their second). The store is a culmination of hours spent digging deep in the flea markets that dot the East Coast and Mid West, returning with the most anomalous pieces. Layered with utilitarian curiosities, well-worn antique furnishings, taxidermy, and puritanical portraits—the atmosphere in Darr is almost mythical. Benmira’s gift for creating environments has led to projects with private clients and friends, and store has quickly become a source of inspiration for interior designers. The “Found Objects” here seem to have a strange history embedded in them, and are a link to the past for our present lives.
