When you’re traveling abroad, it’s often the unique charm and earnestness of everyday products and packaging that can catch your attention—something that high design can’t always offer. Kiosk curates and brings together the best of these objects, one country or location at a time.

Hollander & Lexer

Men's Clothing

Photo: Cal Crary

Hollander & Lexer is a covert sanctuary of unique menswear and accessories located amidst the antique emporiums of Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. The finely crafted clothing is enhanced by an eccentric atmosphere that can only be compared to it’s sister shop Darr — an interior design vault of curiosities located across the street.

Freemans Sporting Club

Men's Clothing

Taavo Somer and his partners converted this once dead end alley into a destination for the young and hip. Whether to be fed, groomed or fitted, Freemans has what that neo-dandy is looking for. The shop’s outdoorsy aesthetic is ideal for the sporting gentleman. But of course any man can indulge in that sport coat made from vintage stock wool constructed in Brooklyn or a perfectly tailored suit made to measure. Tucked away in the back of the store is the barbershop. No need for an appointment here it’s all casual. Get a trim, haircut, or straight razors shave the classic way. It’s a great alternative from the higher end shops in Manhattan. After you’ve taken care of all your sartorial and grooming needs make your way back to the end of the alley for some great dining.
